Villages are among the beautiful sights of each region and at every opportunity many enthusiasts travel to visit and use their nature. Some villages are considered because of their climate and lush nature, and some because of their special texture and architecture. The Sare Aqa Seyyed village is located on Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province and in the central of Kuhrang. Sar Aqa Seyyed village lies at an altitude of 2500 meters. There are many villages in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, many of which are located in pristine and inaccessible areas. Sar-Agha-Seyed is one of these villages that has attracted a lot of tourists due to its beautiful nature and special architecture, and every year many tourists from different parts of Iran and even other countries travel to visit it.

Sar-Aqa-Seyyed-Village

Known for their unusual architecture, there can be found many villages in Iran that have been built in Pelekani (literally meaning staircase) style. This means that the roofs of a series of the building serve as the courtyards and streets of the buildings above them. One example of these villages is Sar Aqa Sayed that is also considered as one of the historical regions of Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari. This village remains unknown because it is mountainous and snowy. The village’s connection is cut off about half a year due to snowfall in the autumn and winter seasons. According to the people, this Imamzadeh is 600 years old. This village headquarters has a traditional and special architecture. The architecture of this village is somehow that the yard of each house is the roof of another house. This type of architecture is called a Pelekani (staircase).

Villages

Sar Aqa Sayed has very cold weather. During wintertime, there is so much snow that it is almost impossible to access this village. It can be visited during the six months of spring and summer when the snow and ice gradually melt and the roads and paths become accessible. The best time to visit the village of Sar Aqa Seyyed is in spring when the water boils out of springs and the village and its surroundings are at their best. The materials used in the construction of the village houses are mud and brick that are made with very simple architecture. Wood is used to build doors’ houses and ceilings. Another feature of these houses is the lack of a window. Any of the village houses, in a completely unusual way, have not a window. All materials made in the construction of houses provide this village.

In this village, women and men are working hard together for the day. The women of this village carry Heavy woods for their ovens. The people of the village are agricultural and rancher. Some people are also engaged in the extraction of salt and the cultivation of some cereals. There are salt springs near the village and some people of village extract salt. The women of this village make carpets, jajim, black tent and Kilim. In the village, there is a small grocery shop mostly selling local products. So, you’d better buy what you need in the city before going to the village. The surrounding mountains are covered with oak trees. The locals mill the chestnuts and bake a kind of traditional bread. There is no accommodation in the village except the local houses.

This attractive village has a population of three hundred people. The electricity of Sar Aqa Sayed has been provided by the cables and utility poles installed up to the center of the village. Schools and medical centers, however, are some of the facilities that unfortunately are not available there. In addition to agriculture and animal husbandry, the profession and the source of income of most of the local people of Sar Aqa Sayed is extraction of salt from the mineral water springs located in the nearby. Nomadic and rural hand weaves, as well as dairy products such as yogurt and cheese, are some of the souvenirs that can be found in this village.
